360 Photo |
It's surprisingly easy to create panoramic photos. You can stitch together digital or film photos to create a picture of a tall building, a vast desert vista, or the 360-degree view from the top of a mountain. Today Roger shows you a friendly program that will help you make high-quality panoramic shots in a snap.
PanaVue ImageAssembler is image-stitching software that lets you assemble multiple photos into panoramas or mosaics. It can even wrap a complete 360-degree panorama for display in a virtual-reality viewer. The software automatically matches colors and adjusts to any camera lens. You can even have it automatically position your images, eliminating all the guesswork. You can also use ImageAssembler to stitch together scanned images such as maps and posters.
Here's how to create a 360-degree panoramic photo:
- Start a new project in the ImageAssembler program.
- Select the "Photo Stitching" type and choose whether you want your photos "in a row" or "in a column."
- Select the "Images" tab, click the "Add Images" button, and select the saved digital or scanned photos you want to use, in the order you want them to appear. The program will automatically number the images in order from left to right.
- Click the "Project Manager" menu button, select the "Lens" tab, and specify the lens used. You can choose from a standard list (e.g. 35 mm) or specify custom lens details.
- Click the "Full Run" button on the menu bar. The program will automatically choose where to match the photos unless you select otherwise.
- Save the resulting image.
Pretty easy, huh? Now you've got no excuse for less-than-impressive vacation pics.
