Universal Conflicts
Conflict is what gets into the way of our hero. When you look at all the problems in the world it is hard to believe that they can be boiled into twelve stories.
1. Brains vs Brawn ( needs no explination )
2. Rags to Riches ( struggle for achievement )
3. Good vs Evil ( sets equal forces against each other )
4. Role Reversals ( seen though different eyes )
5.Courage and Survival ( usually with the environment )
6. Peacemakers ( helping the weaker ones )
7. Tempting Fate ( goes against the flow )
8. Ship of Fools ( several different personalities must work together )
9. Fish Out of Water ( different time or place )
10. Buddy Story ( different personalities become friends )
11. Love Story ( trials and tribulations that join souls )
12. Quests and Journeys ( going through time or space and changing )
Usually stories have more than one conflict. Many have three at least.
