Character Archetypes
In the movies and animations we see the same types of characters over and over again. Carl Jung called reoccuring images archetypes. We call them:
1. The Hero... ( who the story is about )
2. The Mentor... ( who helps the hero )
3. The Herald... ( delivers needed information )
4. The Shadow.. ( the bad guy )
5. The Threshold Guardian... ( who the hero has to get past )
6. The Trickster... ( comedy relief )
7. The Shapeshifter... ( one who is not who they appear to be )
All these characters do not have to be the movie but characters will fall into one of these types.
